Tick-tock

So this is my idea (with a bit of inspiration,) a middle aged man is in his cheap, sticky, very untidy apartment going through his mail to find a notice from the government stating 'Restraining Order' these are the terms and conditions. He then glances over to a frame where it has a picture of him and a woman. He throws the frames out of anger.

It might cut to him walking down a really busy street, just some place where he can almost die but a stranger saves his life, so possibly a car or motorbike almost hitting him as he crosses the road, or a one of those massive garage bins almost squishing him against a wall….(still need to figure it out, but you get the point)

Once the person saves him, the man (lets call him Hunter, aka my nephews name), Hunter sys thank you and that person replies, “Don’t thank me just yet.” Hunter is confused but doesn’t care, as he is extremely thankful.

As few minutes pass it cuts to him in a shopping centre, where he realizes people have signs above their heads. He shows signs of confusion and starts to look at everyone around him, as he is wondering what the hell those signs are, he spots the woman in the frame shown in the beginning. This woman, lets call her Elisa (inspired by my big sisters name,) is his ex gf. I was thinking of maybe having a flashback? I’m not sure what other way to show the audience who she is to him and try and tie the restraining order notice into the story. Anyways he starts hiding and notices the sign above her head. He says to himself, ‘a timer?’

He follows her from a safe distance, but while following her, he starts to notice that children have more time and the older the person the less time the sign has. He turns around as he hears a woman scream as man jumps off one of the top levels and as he is falling, Hunter watches the timer run out and hit zero. As he puts it all together he loses Elisa, and frantically trys to find her.

I think maybe another short flash back on their past relationship? Then it will cut to Hunter spotting Elisa and a close up of her timer is shown which says 01:15:45:03:00: 1 day, 15hrs, 45mins and 3 sec.

From then on he trys to tell follow her to make sure she doesn’t die because he is madly in love with her, but of course she has a restraining order against him - police get involved -Hunter gets arrested – doesn’t know how to get out – contacts Elisa father – trys to convince him – asks the father to go with him – they can’t find Elisa – ends up being only 20mins left to live ….not so sure how to end it though? Like how does she nearly die? Maybe after he saves her, he says the same ‘Don’t thank me yet!” and is shocked to finally have understood what the person who saved him meant, then maybe see them walking away and all their timers are 3mins away from 00!
Anywho I guess I should thank baby Hunter for the inspiration!
